A batik-patterned cloth in a size of 11 x 30 cm, two jute ropes each 30 cm in length, a
roll of white sewing thread, and a sewing machine is prepared.
The cloth is then folded in two, being made sure the inside is out.
Each of the long sides are then basted around 3 cm from the edge of the cloth. This is
to temporarily hold the cloth together, making sure it doesn't move around when sewn.
At precisely 1 cm from each edge of the long sides, the cloth is marked for sewing.
The two folds of the cloth are then sewn together along the marking, starting from the
fold and leaving the last 2 cm apart.
Each of the 1 cm edges from the 2 cm of cloth left apart are then folded inside, basted,
and sewn.
From each of the short sides of the cloth, 1/4 cm of cloth is folded inside and basted.
Following the procedure, the basted edges are further folded 3/8 cm inside, right at the
edge of the 2 cm of cloth left apart. This fold is then basted and sewn together around
1/4 of the folding from the edge. The steps 6, 7, and 8 are repeated to do the other
side.
The end of the jute rope is pinned, pulled through both of the pouch sleeves from the
right and outside the right again. This step is repeated to fasten the other jute rope
from the left.
The pouch is finished, the bastings can be removed now.
